Q My daughter, who recently turned two, started to "stutter." Is this normal? When should I become concerned? What should I do?

A Stuttering is an involuntary repetition of sounds, usually at the start of a sentence. Almost all children have an occasional stutter, especially when they're young and their language skills are growing quickly. Many people agree with your feeling that stutterng occurs when the brain can think thoughts faster than the mouth can say them!

Almost all children who stutter will stop stuttering on their own, even without any sort of formal speech therapy. But there are red flags to look out for that can mean the stuttering may become chronic:
