Appointed Richard G. Wheeler acting high school principal, effective Sept. 3. Wheeler, who retired in December 2006 after five years as superintendent of the Salem schools in Washington County, will earn $330 per day at Berne-Knox-Westerlo. On Aug. 11, the school board placed his predecessor, Mary Petrilli, on paid administrative leave two days after she was arrested by State Police and charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon following a domestic incident in front of her Schodack home.
