Jul. 23--Washington may have stalled on health-care reform, but Massachusetts has been attempting its own overhaul of the health-care system.

"We have the opportunity in the next nine days to do more for health care in this state than we've done in the last 10 years," said Sen. Mark C. Montigny (D-New Bedford), chairman of the health-care committee. "And the clock is ticking."
