Operating Profit and Net Income Margins Improve
on Cost Containment Efforts
ADDISON, Ill., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Minuteman International, Inc. (Nasdaq-NNM: MMAN) today reported moderately improved net income for the second quarter despite a dip in sales. The sales decline was attributed to a decrease in demand for Parker Sweeper products due to adverse spring weather conditions while the gain in profits reflected cost containment efforts primarily related to selling and administrative expenses. Margins also benefited from a 5 percent price increase instituted in the first quarter.
