WORCESTER - Alan Ericson's 30-yard touchdown pass to Manny Assam gave Worcester Academy a 7-0 lead, but Phillips Exeter answered with five unanswered TDs for a 33-7 win in yesterday's NEPSAC Class A game.
Senior captain Patrick Donnelley paced the Griffins' offense with four touchdown passes - three after halftime - to Taylor Diamond, Justin Ramos, Alex Akoto and Tellef Lundevall.
"We're young," first-year Hilltoppers coach David Dykeman said. "We only have two returning guys from last year, so the young guys have to step up. And they did for the most part and gave a great effort, but effort isn't why we lost today."
