Electrical goods manufacturing concern, CAFCA, shelved its toll-manufacturing projects with South African companies during the first half of this year, but are set to re-launch the deal during the second half.

The company did not give reasons for the temporary termination of the foreign currency-generating project. Most companies in Zimbabwe are operating at less that 30 percent of capacity due to foreign currency, raw material and power shortages, and have engaged regional companies in similar business for sub-contracts in the manufacturing of goods at a fee. This process is called toll manufacturing.
