The Mexican Opportunity
During the period from the end of the 1980s until 1994, one can safely say that the Mexican economy was truly transformed. The excitement this met was whipped up by many other positive country indicators. A young population, forecast to exceed 100 million by the year 2000; rising disposable incomes; a high level of urban dwelling and of course, NAFTA; all signalled Mexico to be a vast, untapped market of opportunities for food manufacturers.
