Aug. 2--SIMULA TO MAKE SEATS, AIR BAGS: Simula Inc. has been awarded one contract and received two purchase orders related to aircraft seats and automobile air bags.
The contract, announced Wednesday, calls for Simula's Airline Interiors subsidiary in San Diego to supply aircraft seating systems to an undisclosed U.S. airline. The initial order is for seats for two of the airline's MD-80 aircraft, with delivery scheduled for September and October.
The subsidiary also has received a purchase order from Airtours, a tour operator based in Manchester, England, for aircraft seats on several of its Airbus A-320 aircraft. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the fourth ...
