LEE HARVEY OSWALD (1939- 1963) was, according to the U.S. government, the assassin of U.S.President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. Oswald was a former Marine who briefly defected to the Soviet Union at the age of 19.
Like much of his story, his emigration is the subject of much speculation.
