INTRODUCTION

The formation of a miscible polymer blend is generally the consequence of an exothermic heat of mixing which requires some specific interaction between chemical moieties of two polymers. A number of systems have been reported where hydrogen bonding, ion-dipole, or Lewis acid-base interactions are sufficient to promote the formation of homogeneous phase systems (1-5). However, interesting exceptions to these have been reported for systems which involve either one or two copolymers as components, showing miscibility windows within certain composition ranges of the copolymers (6, 7, 10-14).
