Norwegian state-owned renewable energy group Statkraft AS announced on Thursday (25 September) that it has signed a letter of intent to cooperate with Eramet Norway AS, part of the French industrial group Eramet, within energy recovery.
The companies plan to recover energy from excess gas at Eramet's smelting plant in Sauda, Norway. CO gas, which today is flared, will be burnt in a steam-producing boiler, from which the steam will be led through a turbine.
