ATLANTA--Aug. 3--Delta Air Lines will hire 550 flight attendants over the next five months to help handle increased passenger traffic and new low-fare flights this fall, the airline announced Friday.
In Atlanta alone, Delta served more than 2 million passengers a month since March, a 10 percent increase over last year. The new flight attendants are part of Delta's attempts at expanding operations, which has added about 500 jobs and additional equipment over the last year.
"The days of cutting back have ended," said Delta spokesman Bill Berry, who said recent improvements have also helped boost Delta's sagging on-time performance. In its best ranking in 18 ...
