LIVERPOOL actor Ricky Tomlinson has donated pounds 200,000 to a Cheshire charity which helps vulnerable babies.
The Royle Family star unveiled a plaque at the Countess of Chester hospital, which recognises his gift to the area's Human Milk Bank Appeal, which is run from the hospital's neonatal unit.
He also confirmed his patronage of the charity for 2008, which provides valuable nutrition to improve the health of premature, sick and other vulnerable babies.
Although the donated milk is given freely by mothers, it costs around pounds 100 to collect, test and store each litre.
