Kuwait will likely purchase more American-made combat equipment as its armed forces become increasingly familiar with U.S. military items already in their inventory, according to an Army official.
"I am confident that as they come to appreciate the M1A2s performance, the Kuwaitis will decide to buy more tanks and other U.S. military equipment," Col. Chris Cardine, the U.S. Army project manager for Abrams tank systems, told Defense Daily in an interview yesterday.
According to Cardine, who recently visited Kuwait, there are three reasons why it will probably purchase more U.S. combat vehicles.
