MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1996--Marcus Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), today announced the acquisition of the Erawan Garden Resort, Indian Wells, California, the first expansion for Marcus Hotels and Resorts outside of the Midwest.
Lee H. Berthelsen, president and chief operating officer of Marcus Hotels and Resorts, said the resort, which will be renamed, will be immediately closed for an extensive restoration, renovation and enhancement of the property and all of its facilities. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
