The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill that includes $56.1 million in funding for Ohio defense and military construction projects, U.S. Representative Dave Hobson, R-Springfield, announced late Wednesday.
The bill, called the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009, includes $42.2 million in funding for a variety of research and development programs at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and other defense industry facilities in the Dayton and central Ohio regions. It still needs to pass through the Senate, and could emerge with some earmarks trimmed or deleted.
