NEW YORK -- The Marilyn Monroe mystique ignited an innerwear skirmish last week.

The Warnaco Group introduced the first officially licensed line of innerwear from the estate of Marilyn Monroe bearing the Marilyn Monroe by Warner's name. The collection is expected to generate first-year wholesale sales of $25 million.

But at the same time, Gruppo International Saint Moris, a $120 million intimate apparel manufacturer in Mexico City launched a line of bras and panties for spring selling called Collection M with sales materials, including an eight-page color brochure and business cards bearing the image of a Marilyn Monroe look-alike.
