SAN LEANDRO, Calif., Aug 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Face, Inc. (Nasdaq: TNFI) announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with privately held A-5 Adventures, Inc. of Flagstaff, Arizona, and its principal stockholder John Middendorf, providing for a proposed acquisition by The North Face of A-5's product designs and certain other personal property and a proposed employment agreement between The North Face and Mr. Middendorf. The Company anticipates the purchase to take effect on January 1, 1997.
