As Outokumpu points out, the five years since the last review of flotation in Mining Magazine (June 1991, pp 379-393) have been full of exciting developments. The advances made in that time have changed the way much of the mining industry performs this critically important task today. The result is new equipment, refinements in design and the means to integrate elemental analysis and control. These have combined to lead the entire industry in new directions.
