PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans continue to grow more negative about the U.S. economy, with 39% now calling it "poor" -- a new high for the year.
An additional 40% of Americans now say current economic conditions are "only fair," leaving just 21% calling them "excellent" or "good." These figures -- based on Gallup Poll Daily tracking interviews from Feb. 28-March 1 -- are significantly worse than even a week ago, when 35% rated the economy "poor."
