The honeymoon's over - or at least scaled down, pushed back or postponed indefinitely.
Thanks to the financial mess on Wall Street, skyrocketing gas prices and the weakened U.S. dollar, lavish post-wedding excursions are a becoming a thing of the past, as more newlyweds stay close to home or cut back to save money.
"We took a week off after our wedding and hung out on our boat in Newport, R.I.," said Dave Pignolet of Melrose, who was married in June. "We're going to take a trip in February, though."
