SANTIAGO, Chile, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Maderas y Sinteticos S.A. (MASISA) (NYSE: MYS), Chile's leading board manufacturer, announced today that in a Board meeting held on August 19, 1996, the Board approved the sale of 0.5% of its current 54% stake in its subsidiary Forestal Tornagaleones S.A. for a total consideration of approximately US$475 thousand. The buyer is Rawson Investments Limited, a foreign institutional investor.
With this transaction, MASISA reduced its ownership of Forestal Tornagaleones from 54% to 53.5%.
