IT is nearly two decades since the reunification of Germany.
A whole generation has grown up in a country they have only known as one. Yet, to most reading this article, Germany's modern history has been nothing if not turbulent, disturbing and fascinating.
Its centuries-old history is just the same and on our seven-night stay in the former East Germany we learned so much about both and, just as important, what the country has to offer in the here and now.
