A recent trip to the employee kitchen piqued my curiosity about workplace decencies. A note on the refrigerator read, "Whoever ate my lunch, please refrain from doing so in the future." Hmmm. ... That was not a decent thing to do.

It gave me pause to think about how decent we are to one another in the workplace. I'm sure that we were all taught manners by our parents. What happens to us when we get into the workaday world and learn that not everyone shares our same sense of decency? What does it mean to be decent?
It seems to me that workplace decencies are a given. People are respectful and considerate of others, ...
