Olympian Nick Symmonds will close out the 2008 track and field season on Sunday by competing in the 28th annual Fifth Avenue Mile in New York City.
Symmonds, of Oregon Track Club Elite, won the 800 meters at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field in July. He went on to reach the Olympic semifinals in Beijing last month.
Ten Olympians are entered in the men's and women's races, which begin on Manhattan's famed Fifth Avenue near East 80th Street.
The one-way course heads south on Fifth Avenue to the finish line at East 60th Street, also in Manhattan.
