Investigators publish new data in the report 'Analysis of BDNF Val66Met allele-specific mRNA levels in bipolar disorder.' "We have previously reported an association between the BDNF Val66Met polymorphism and bipolar disorder (BD). However, the possibility that genomic imprinting in BDNF gene affects risk for BD has not been investigated," scientists in Toronto, Canada report (see also Bipolar Disorder Genetics).
