CHICAGO _ Al Gore had 2,000 AFL-CIO activists rocking, laughing and chanting ``four more years'' here Sunday _ yes, that Al Gore, the vice president long mocked as the stiff, wooden emcee who usually just introduces Bill Clinton and then sits down.
With Clinton taking a slow train to Chicago, Gore is for now the biggest name at the Democratic National Convention, and he is making the most of it.
Gore will address the nation on prime-time TV here on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. In the meantime, a loose, almost rollicking Al Gore is popping up before every state delegation and special caucus of Democratic activists that he can find.
