Synopsis: In separate trial heats for the general election, Barack Obama loses more white conservative Democrats to John McCain than does Hillary Clinton (35% vs. 25%), but he offsets this by winning over more political independents (29% to her 23%) and moderate-to-liberal Republicans (18% vs. 14%).
