There are a lot of things you can call a guy like Antonio Rodrigues.

Call him Toyota's finest master technician or a highly trained expert of automotive machinery. A certified wizard of eight separate automotive systems might be an appropriate name, too.

But don't call him a mechanic.

Rodrigues, who repairs vehicles at Middle Island Toyota in Middle Island, N.Y., won Toyota Motor Corp. in U.S.A.'s annual Master Technician Skills Contest in May.
