Since 1958, Star of the Sea Catholic School on 15th Street and Pacific Avenue has been filled with children learning, praying, playing and creating memories.
A cadre of volunteers has spent the past year planning a two-day celebration to mark the school's golden anniversary at the Beach.
Emphasis was placed on making the event family-friendly, faith-based and fun.
Activities begin Friday morning, with liturgy led by Bishop Francis Xavier DiLorenzo of Richmond, followed by a reception, tours of the school and "Are You Smarter Than an Eighth -Grader?" - an alumni versus student competition that is a take ...
