Article: That look: giving residents what they want.(OBSERVATIONS)

At times, mind-reading and guessing games can play into the role of owners who try to predict and provide exactly the interior design and amenities that are best suited for a group of prospective renters.

Looking at the history of amenities and design, it is easy for some of us to chuckle at what we once offered. I provided input for an article in this issue of UNITS--What Do Residents Want? It was a lot of fun, turning back time to what was in and what wasn't during the past 30 years. Orange shag carpeting is just one of the design trends that most today would find puzzling.
