WELSH cheese producers are feeling proud after the British Cheese Festival held in Cardiff Castle last weekend. It was an appropriate venue to taste many a fine British cheese, with plenty of Welsh producers making a strong presence.
They took plenty of awards which now puts them among the elite of British cheese makers.
Among the stars were Cothi Valley Goats and Kid Me Not, both making delicious goats' milk cheese in the delightful Cothi vale of Carmarthenshire. Others were Caws Cenarth, Teifi Farmhouse Cheeses, Trethowens Gorwydd, Caws Munydd Ddu and South Caernarfon Creameries.
