INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1996--Allison Transmission and Aisin Seiki have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding to study joint marketing of commercial-duty automatic transmissions in Japan and other parts of Asia, according to John F. Smith, president of Allison Transmission.
The signing of the Memorandum by Smith and Aisin Seiki president Kanshiro Toyoda consummated business negotiations that began in late 1994. Smith traveled to Japan in early August to sign the agreement at Aisin Seiki world headquarters in Kariya City.
