Terai armed groups announce unilateral ceasefire
Kathmandu, Oct 3 (PTI) Armed groups demanding greater autonomy for Nepal's southern Terai region bordering India have announced a unilateral ceasefire for the festival of 'Vijaya Dashmi' and expressed willingness to hold talks with the Maoist-led government.
Their move during a meeting last night came in response to the government's call for a dialogue to address their grievances through peaceful means.
In a joint statement, a total of 14 armed groups operating the restive region said they have decide to go for a unilateral ceasefire keeping in view the 'Dashain' festival.
