Nintendo's decision to introduce the Nintendo 64 game machine at Blockbuster Video to the exclusion of all other rental retailers may not be as one-sided or unfair as some retailers and distributors undoubtedly perceive it to be.
For better or for worse, Nintendo is simply acknowledging the relatively limited weight the video rental channel carries, at least in terms of videogame sales. Video stores account for only 10% to 20% of total videogame industry revenues, according to game distributors.
