ANAHEIM, Calif. - As a matter of survival, the Red Sox have, through the years, made the transition from a team of brontosauruses with bats to one that occasionally might beat you another way - like with a stolen base, a bunt single, or even some shutout pitching.
Still, what would any Boston team be if it couldn't drop the occasional bomb, as Jason Bay did in the first inning last night with a three-run home run to center field that gave the Red Sox a 4-0 lead?
