06 OCTOBER 2008 CANBERRA (Pacnews) ----- Australian Federal Police (AFP) have returned to Papua New Guinea (PNG) after leaving three years ago amid declining relations between John Howard and the Government of Sir Michael Somare, reports Sydney Morning Herald .
But the contingent will be limited to advisory roles rather than on-the-beat policing because of ongoing concerns about a lack of immunity for the officers from prosecution in local courts.
