The first issue of Connect was published in 2001, with a stated vision to be the voice of critical care nurses worldwide. Now, in 2008 in this issue, the journal is publishing its first article in two languages: English and Spanish. This represents a major milestone for the journal and is one of the first steps we are taking to make Connect fully available in two languages. As part of our planned development we are starting by translating a few articles into Spanish, and in 2009 we intend that all articles published in Connect will have the title, key words, and summary in Spanish as well as English. We also intend to have the website available fully in both languages.
