HOUSTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Service Corporation International (SCI) (NYSE: SRV) announced today that its registration statement relating to up to $1 billion of securities has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission. It is anticipated that the securities will be issued from time to time through underwriters and may be sold directly to other purchasers or through agents.
