ATLANTA--Sep. 1--United Parcel Service tops the list of government contractors with the most workplace safety and health violations in fiscal 1994, according to a federal study expected to be released Monday.
Sen. Paul Simon asked the General Accounting Office, the research arm of Congress, to prepare the report. The Illinois Democrat is sponsoring legislation that would allow the federal government to quit doing business with companies that have large numbers of Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations.
