Manchester Airports Group will have a beat off a rival Dutch bid if it is to win control of Glasgow Airport.
Schipol Group, which runs Amsterdams international national, said it has a "definite interest" in buying Glasgow from current owners BAA.
The Dutch state-owned company is likely to want to use the airport as a feeder for international flights from its Schipol hub.
