SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1996--Diablo Research Corporation, a high-technology, full-service engineering design and product development company, announced today that they have begun shipping Whisper radio components for a field trial to be conducted in Scottsbluff, Nebraska by KN Energy.
The trial, designed to do automatic meter reading (AMR) of gas meters and remote sensing of other devices, will use Metricom's wireless Ricochet network as the wide area network (WAN) for delivering data to KN's billing center.
