StreamBase Systems, a Lexington, Mass.-based supplier of complex event processing technology, has promoted Mark Palmer, president and COO since April, to chief executive. Palmer replaces Chris Risley, who joined as CEO in August 2007-succeeding Barry Morris-and will continue as chairman of the five-year-old company. "This is the perfect time to hand over day-to-day leadership of the company to Mark," noted Risley, former CEO of Nominum, a provider of network naming and addressing systems to communications carriers.
