Bicyclists, walkers and other trail users are on their way toward getting a pedestrian bridge over the Cedar River in southeast Austin. On Monday, the Austin City Council unanimously approved a $34,750 bid from Bolton & Menk Inc. to provide engineering services for the project thats expected to undergo construction in summer or fall. The firms work will include designing the bridge as well as analyzing the existing piers and abutments from a former railroad bridge near Fourth Street Southeasts Roosevelt Bridge to use for its support.
