The sheer height of most city structures forces workers to use scaffolding and rigging to do accomplish almost any outside work. But it also means that while owners do all they can to ensure the safety of the workers and the job, accidents do happen.
That was underscored last week when one of the most prominent owners was faced with a crashing parapet pedestrian injuries and the injury to a worker and death of another whose company, a subcontractor, was properly licensed for rigging work.
