Forget what you've read before about the new Mac OS and its fountain of features. Forget Apple's promises to have it to you this year. Mac OS 8, formerly known as Copland, is at least a year away and will likely not be what Apple has promised (see "The New Mac OS Unveiled," July 1995).
Apple is understandably keeping its plans vague, given its series of broken commitments. But here's the latest.
