Sep. 18--The Hampton Roads economy was weak in July, continuing a yearlong trend, a new report says.
The Hampton Roads Economic Performance Index fell in July for the third straight month, after three months when the index was unchanged or declined. The numbers, compiled by Virginia Wesleyan College professor David Garraty, are based on employment data weighted by earnings.
The trend is likely to continue through the end of the year, Garraty said.
"I don't see a whole lot of stimulus now," he said.
