SPRINGFIELD - A Sunwest Management administrator attempted to clear the air Tuesday with 140 residents who live in the Briarwood Retirement and Assisted Living Community in Springfield.
The retirement home has been under supervision of a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in Nashville, Tenn., since Sunwest filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August on behalf of affiliated facility owners.
Recent court proceedings have raised questions about the quantity and quality of the center's food, the level of staffing and other issues. And police reports filed by residents over the past year have charged that painkillers ...
