BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1996--Alabama National BanCorporation (Nasdaq/NM:ALAB) and FIRSTBANC HOLDING COMPANY, INC. today announced that the merger of FIRSTBANC with Alabama National has received shareholder approval. FIRSTBANC is the holding company for First Bank of Baldwin County which will become the eighth bank or thrift owned by Alabama National.
Final approval of the merger was voted by FIRSTBANC shareholders at a special meeting held on September 19. The transaction has also received applicable regulatory approvals and is anticipated to close on September 30, 1996.
