ANDY MURRAY progressed through to the third round of the Madrid Masters after Italian opponent Simone Bolelli was forced to retire injured midway through yesterday"s encounter.
The world number four already looked well on the way to victory, leading 6-0 2-1, when Bolelli decided to call it a day after struggling with what appeared to be a shoulder problem.
Playing competitively for the first time since last month's Davis Cup defeat by Austria, Murray showed no signs of rustiness against lucky loser Bolelli as he blitzed his opponent straight from the off in what was a completely one-sided opening set.
